Thou Shalt Not Murder the Sixth Commandment
YOU SHALL NOT KILL IS NOT THE SAME AS THOU SHALT NOT MURDER
Killing is not prohibited in God’s Laws. Killing animals for food and safety are common place and necessary for mankind in this world. The law valued human life by giving the death penalty for anyone who murderously took a life. Murder requires a motive such as hatred anger or greed. The law values items by the penalty assigned for the breaking of that law. Unlike stealing, if one murdered someone the penalty was death. God’s Laws put such a high value on human life that if you took someone’s life, it cost you your life. God puts a high value on human life! The law and the penalties attached reveal to us God’s thinking and his values and what He expects of us in this life. The purpose of the law was never about salvation or justification from past law breaking. It is a guide as to how to live and love our fellow man. All of God’s Laws are good for us when used properly. Numbers 36:6-17 describes God’s administration of justice for murderers. It allowed for those who killed someone accidentally be protected and murderers executed. It is the government’s responsibility to protect the public by prosecuting criminals. We as individuals, should cooperate with the government in prosecutions of murderers but not kill for personal vengeance ourselves. Executing murderers would be a deterrent for murder if done promptly, God says so.
THE SPIRITUAL MEANING OF THE SIXTH COMMANDMENT IS CHRISTIAN LOVE
Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount expanded the law to its deep spiritual meaning. He said not only do no murder, but to not even hate or condemn your brother. Hate is the emotion that precedes murder. He went on further to command us all to LOVE OUR ENEMIES. Wow! See Matt 5:21-24, 43-48. This is in agreement with the Old Testament Law for individuals. See Lev 19:17-19. Christ was just explaining what the religious leaders did not understand. Think of what a wonderful society will be generated when people are taught to love their enemies and rivals. All will be taught to do good to all their neighbors. It will be a real paradise. All this will happen when Christ returns.
THE ROOT CAUSE OF MURDER AND VIOLENCE ABANDONING GOD’S VALUES, ESPECIALLY HIS FAMILY VALUES.
The collapse of family values and secularization of society is a base cause for violence and murder. Why do we have no shortage of sickos eager to commit the next atrocity? Why do we have so many street thugs eager for drug territorial war murders? Why? Because society has begun abandoning God and the Bible. Children don’t learn a sense of right and wrong, only that might makes right. Our society has banned the Bible from the public square and is even pressuring what can be taught in Christian churches today. Society is starting to reap what it has sown, violence and murder. Too many Hollywood scripts are based on personal violence and vengeance. The media as expected, are playing their role of obscuring the truth. See Isa 5:20-23, 7:9-11 where right is called and wrong and wrong is labeled right. Babies are aborted in a callous fashion because we have abandoned any solid Biblical values and therefore some people are becoming callous to the murder of infants. AMERICAN IS ON THE CUSP OF ABANDONING NEARLY ALL GODLY VALUES IN THE PUBLIC SQUARE!
- BIG SOCIALIST PROGESSIVE GOVERNMENTS BELIEVE THAT THE ENDS JUSTIFY THE MEANS
Socialists and Communists take the position that to create the socialist paradise or workers utopia it is acceptable to use any means cruel or otherwise. They reject all religious teaching individual human life for the collective. The big socialist/communist governments rely totally on human PHILOSOPHIES which include humanism, atheism evolution and aborting babies of those you dislike eugenics and euthanizing the elderly and near total socialism creating a lot of dependent masses to keep you in power. The last one hundred years has been a disaster of murderous violence sponsored by big governments. Worship of the state (statism) has been an absolute disaster of murderous crimes. The Communists killed 100 million of their own citizens (to make an omelet you must break a few eggs THEY SAY).
Nobel Prize winner Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn was asked to account for the great tragedies that occurred under the brutal communist regime he and fellow citizens suffered under.
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn offered the following explanation:

The NAZI (national SOCIALIST Party) practiced similar statism and the Gestapo and SS murdered over 6 million of their own populations and started WWII which cost “Between “35-70 million lives depending on whose records one uses. This brings the total to near 140 million deaths caused by big dictator socialist governments. Hitler pretended to be Christian until he took over, then forced and propagandized the people to worship of him and the state which led Germans, to their ruin. |
