Could The Trump Election And Moving The U.S. Embassy To Jerusalem Signal More Or Less Time Before The Second Coming?
DOES A MORE CONSERVATIVE ELECTION MEAN FUTURE SUCCESS OR FAILURE FOR BIG GOVERNMENT SOCIALISM?
Leftist radicals in the 1960’s tried to bring about a socialist communistic type revolution in America. They failed because most of America was still fairly traditional and patriotic. Churches still had a large tempering influence. However, now they have made significant inroads into all power centers. They control academia, Hollywood, the media, the teachers union. They are well organized and heavily influence the federal government’s bureaucrats. Most judges also are progressives. They can deliver mobs quickly, with well-paid leadership anywhere, almost instantly, with coordinated coverage by the left-wing news media.
This shocking conservative election will do one of two things. In resistance to the move toward more conservative Judeo-Christian values, leftists go too far in riots and resistance shocking the pubic. Radicals in the process of resistance alarm the public to their desire for total socialism and send the public running in a more conservative direction. If people begin to fear big government’s attempt at total control of their lives with a progressive agenda, then public opinion could flip to a more traditional direction.
The other outcome could be one of success for the socialists. They use the backlash against the more conservative government to drive public opinion, with the help of the media and Hollywood, to public rejection of American traditional views including the Judeo-Christian values. Which way will public opinion swing? Did this election portend a departure from the socialist program by making them show their intentions too soon? Many might view the anarchists and radicals and their allies as the enemy within. Will the radicals prevail?
DOES SHOCKING ELECTION MEAN A SLOWING OF THE MORAL DECLINE OF AMERICA?
If a nation repents then God can alter His prophecy of that nation’s punishment. The prime example is Nineveh. They repented and God altered His prophesied punishment. Jeremiah proclaimed to Israel that if they altered their ways they would not be sent into defeat and captivity. Note Jer. 3:12, 22. Are we returning to God? Is America’s basic Judeo-Christian background starting to assert itself in the heartland?
The future is not set in stone. Some things can be altered by our national conduct. If America has chosen a step in the right direction might that slow down the point at which God turns His back on America? The inauguration and the prayer service, the next day, had more mentions of God than we have seen in many years from our national leaders. Further, they have pledged to defund abortions by Planned Parenthood. Nations tend to go in the direction of their leadership.
The nation has barely rejected a secular anti-Christian socialist. Therefore it might take longer for America to fall completely away from God. Note Jer. 2:11 Americans thereby are turning away from nature and state worship. Israel did not change their hearts and change their ways. They went into captivity. Is America’s decline and defeat going to be delayed? See Jer. 4:1, 4. God can alter a nation’s destiny based on its behavior.
WILL RELOCATION OF US EMBASSY TO JERUSALEM SPEED UP OR SLOWDOWN ENDTIME EVENTS?
Trump during the campaign promised to move the American Embassy to Jerusalem. Congress voted to take this action in 1999 but all presidents have been too afraid of Arab backlash to do it. If the move happens, what will be the result? The Bible talks about Jerusalem being a hot iron or burdensome stone. Note Zach. 12:2-3. Will the surrounding Arab nations become even more intoxicated, incensed and hate filled if this event occurs? Jerusalem is not mentioned specifically in the Koran. However Yasser Arafat’s uncle the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Haj Amin el-Husseini aroused passions for Jerusalem among the Arabs and against the growing Jewish populations in the 1920 and 1930’s. He also pushed the idea of the sacredness of Jerusalem to Islam. Arafat was offered just about all the land concessions he demanded in peace deals in the 90’s except for Israel’s giving up Jerusalem. He walked away from the peace deal apparently over Jerusalem.
God will rescue Judah in the second coming of Jesus but, might He do that in a type or pattern as He did during and after the Six Day, or Yom Kippur Wars; possibly insuring years of relative peace and power in the Middle East and the control of even more buffer safety land by Judah? See Zach. 12:5-6. Maybe the pressure on Judah will encourage the building of the Third Temple!
WHAT SURE ENDTIME EXHORTATIONS SHOULD WE NEVER FORGET?
Christ gave His disciples some exhortations about staying ready for the return of the Messiah. The First of the Three Exhortations is, “Do not let the world put you to sleep spiritually”. Note Matt. 24: 44, 47-48. Matt 25:10-11 adds additional exhortations of the danger of being lulled to sleep. We must keep our spiritual light and reserves ready for a surprise second coming.
The Second Exhortation is, “Use the talents and gifts given by God to grow”. God will not except any excuses. See Matt. 25:28-30. We must produce some fruit for God. God’s work includes helping the church send out the message. See Matt. 28:19. We must keep growing and doing God’s work.
The Third Exhortation is that all Christians must, “Learn to treat others, especially the little people, with kindness and generosity”. Note Matt. 25:44-46. We can be certain of these responsibilities.
We cannot be sure of how close we are to the end of this age nor whether America has really taken enough of a step in the right direction to slow the decline. We can only speculate. But we are sure that we must:
1-Stay awake spiritually and not be lulled to sleep.
2-We must use our gifts to help the church, and to grow on our individual programs.
3- We must be kind to others in an increasingly cruel world.
