Is Your Life A Mystery[printer friendly]
By: Tom Haltom
We often hear people say, "I am just trying to find
myself". They wonder why they are here and how
does their life fits into the overall panorama of
things taking place on earth?
Through the ages, mankind has always wondered
why we are here. Could there be some greater
purpose for life on earth of which we are unaware?
Some 3000 years ago a man of God, named David
(the 2nd king of ancient Israel) asked the same
question. Notice what David had to say in the Holy
Bible.
Psalms - Chapter 8 Verses: 1, 3, 4, 5, 6
- 1. O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in
all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the
heavens.
- 3. When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy
fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast
ordained;
- 4. What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and
the son of man, that thou visitest him?
- 5. For thou hast made him a little lower than the
angels, and hast crowned him with glory and
honour.
- 6. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works
of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
Why would the Great GOD who created this
seemingly endless universe be so vitally concerned
about sinful and rebellious mankind? The United
States, which has been, blessed far above all nations
on earth. There are many people in our country who
don't want GOD in our government, our public
schools, or in our families. They deny God's very
existence, his law, and his way of life.
Even though we have rejected him, knowing the evil
nature of man, our loving and merciful GOD has an
awesome and a wonderful purpose for human life
and is concerned about the welfare of all humanity.
Our modern mankind would love to conquer the
universe by traveling through outer space. However,
the normal life expectancy of man will not permit it.
From the beginning of man's creation, God has
only given him dominion over the earth.
Genesis – Chapter: 1 Verse: 26
-
26. And God said, Let us make man in our image,
after our likeness: and let them have dominion
over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the
air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and
over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the
earth.
Psalms - Chapter 8 Verses: 6,7, 8
- 6. Thou madest him to have dominion over the
works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under
his feet:
- 7. All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the
field;
- 8. The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and
whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
Basically, we are earth bound creatures, but there
will be a time in the coming world tomorrow that
will change mankind forever.
Hebrews - Chapter 2 Verse: 5
- 5. For unto the angels hath he not put in
subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.
Mark - Chapter 1 Verses: 14, 15 (The coming
Kingdom of GOD)
- 14. Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus
came into Galilee, preaching the gospel
of the kingdom of God,
- 15. And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the
kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe
the gospel.
Isaiah - Chapter 9 Verses: 6,7
- 6. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is
given: and the government shall be upon his
shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful,
Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting
Father, The Prince of Peace.
- 7. Of the increase of his government and peace
there shall be no end, upon the throne of David,

and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it
with judgment and with justice from henceforth-even
forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform
this.
Hebrews - Chapter 2 Verses: 6,7, 8
- 6. But one in a certain place testified, saying, What
is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of
man, that thou visitest him?
- 7. Thou madest him a little lower than the angels;
thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and
didst set him over the works of thy hands:
- 8. Thou hast put all things in subjection under his
feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him,
he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we
see not yet all things put under him.
Hebrews Chapter 2 Verses 6 and 7 is a repeat of
Psalms Chapter 8 Verses 3 to 6, expanding on
David’s writings in Psalms Chapter 8 Verses 3 to 6.
Notice that Hebrews Chapter 2, Verse 8 is speaking
not only of the earth but includes outer space and the
universe.
If we have truly repented and accepted Jesus Christ
and the Spirit of GOD lives in us and if we are
obeying Him, we are now heirs with Jesus Christ.
Romans - Chapter 8 Verses: 16,17,18
- 16. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit,
that we are the children of God:
- 17. And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and
joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with
him, that we may be also glorified together.
- 18. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present
time are not worthy to be compared with the glory
which shall be revealed in us.
We will be given eternal life, changed into a spirit,
born son or daughter of the great GOD as Jesus
Christ is today. We shall become an inheritor of all
our great GOD and heavenly FATHER owns.
Revelation – Chapter 21 Verses: 6, 7
- 6. And he said unto me, it is done. I am Alpha and
Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto
him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life
freely.
- 7. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I
will be his God, and he shall be my son.
2ND Corinthians – Chapter 6 Verses: 16, 17, 18
- 16. And what agreement hath the temple of God
with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God;
as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in
them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my
people.
- 17. Wherefore come out from among them, and be
ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the
unclean thing; and I will receive you,
- 18. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be
my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
As we all know, our planet is in extreme turmoil.
Even though the problems of today are seemingly
insurmountable, our creator GOD in all His
magnificence, power and love, knows exactly
what is taking place and at His appointed time: He
is going to fulfill all the righteous hopes, dreams,
and desires of man.
Mathew Chapter 6 – Verses: 9,10 (Jesus said:)
- 9. After this manner therefore pray ye: Our
Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy
name.
- 10. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in
earth, as it is in heaven.
"When you pray say our FATHER which art
in heaven hallowed be thou name, thy kingdom
come, thou will be done on earth as it is in
heaven". There is a stupendous future yet
ahead for all humanity. May our great GOD
hasten that day, because that prayer will become a reality on earth." |
