Moses the Greatest of Prophets the Final Story

Moses the Greatest Prophet Part 2 The Final Story Oct 9th, 2015

LESSONS WE CAN LEARN FROM THE LIFE OF MOSES
MOSES AND CHRIST ARE PARALLEL
In part one, we covered the amazing parallel of Christ and Moses. God considered Moses as being so special that He sent His own Son as another Moses. See Deut 18:15. Peter, in the first New Testament sermon at Pentecost, told the people of Israel that Jesus came in the same mode as Moses. He told them that Moses prophesied about Jesus as one like himself. See Acts 3:22-23. Moses said a prophet like me will come that you must follow referring to Jesus. It is modern blasphemy for someone to claim that he is ‘that prophet to come’.
The birth of both Moses and Jesus are parallel in that the Devil tried to kill them both as infants. Secondly, Moses and Jesus were both saved in Egypt. Pharaoh fearing a deliverer and the growing population of Israelites, had all infant boys murdered from birth thru age two. Moses’ parents like Christ parents Joseph and Mary, who escaped to Egypt, put the baby Moses in a water proof basket to float on the Nile. They prayed that God would have the baby saved. God rewarded their faith by having Pharaohs’ daughter rescue Moses. Then they were paid to raise their own son for a while. God made the Egyptians perceive Moses as a god. See Exodus 7:1-2. Jesus was really God, of course. Moses was a law giver as the physical scribe and administrator of the law for the physical nation of Israel. Jesus is the spiritual law giver who clarified and expanded the law in its pure spiritual depth. See Matt 5.
THEREFORE WE CAN CONCLUDE THAT THERE ARE NO CONTRADICTIONS OR CLASHES BETWEEN THE WRITINGS GOD INSPIRED OF MOSES AND JESUS CHRIST WHO LED HIM IN THE DESERT AND CAME AS A TYPE OF MOSES. We need to realize that Moses led a theocracy in the desert, camping. In our church oriented world without governmental authority some rulings would not fully apply.
MOSES SAVED ALL ISRAEL AND THE ANCESTORS OF THE JEWS AND ANGLO SAXONS.
God was truly disappointed and angry with the Israelites. He was going to eliminate them. Moses stood in the gap and saved them with a prayer. Moses trusted that his relationship with God was so close and important to God and that he would listen to Moses and he was correct. See Numbers 14: 10-20. He based his prayer based on understanding God he saved millions. It wasn’t about how the Israelites were not so bad; Moses and God both knew better. He based his appeal on God’s reputation and His graciousness. Thereby he saved a nation. Also see Jonah 4:2.
What is even more remarkable is that the same Israelites who Moses saved, had tried to stone Moses and Aaron to death and go back to Egypt. See Num 14:1-10. What God like forgiveness and big heartedness on the part of Moses! We should not rejoice when our enemies fall and should pray for our enemies LIKE MOSES DID.
WE SHOULD LEARN NOT TO COMPLAIN AND GRUMBLE BUT TRUST IN GOD
The Israelites were a bunch of MALCONTENTS. No matter what the test or challenge they never trusted God but were MALCONTENT. See Num 14:22. Moses delayed coming down from the mountain so they immediately broke the covenant with God and had a paganized, sex driven idol worshipping ceremony. They complained about manna. They wanted the equivalent of roasted or fried chicken. They were unthankful gluttons for all the miracles God gave them. All the complaining and malcontent turned the peoples hard hearted and cold toward God. We need focus on trust and love for God even during a test. See Hebrews 3:8-11. If we want to be in Gods family and favor and protection ‘Harden not our hearts ‘.
MOSES IS A MODEL FOR THE FINAL TWO WITNESSES WHO COME IN THE POWER OF MOSES & AND ELIJAH
Moses executed devastating plagues on the great Egyptian empire. These were a type of the plagues of the two witnesses on final evil empire’ Babylon the Great’. Moses and Aaron were like two witnesses to Pharaoh. Elijah stopped the rain and Moses turned the waters into blood. See Rev 11:3-6. What lessons can we learn from this? We are to come out of Babylon now so we can be in a place of safety and preserve our salvation for the great deception is coming on the world. They will disregard the Bible and worship a man. See Rev 17:5, 18:4. We must be like faithful Moses and leave this world’s religious system now. Modern media and propaganda may overwhelm the Bible illiterates of this world in the hands of the Beast and False Prophet soon to come on the scene.
