DID THE PROPHET FORESEE THE AGE OF COMPUTERS AND SMART PHONES?
We are clearly in an age of accelerated data and learning with more books written now than ever. We are in the information age. The largest and most powerful industries are now the information corporate giants. The industrial age has turned into the information age. Knowledge is being created and stored and exchanged at an ever accelerating speed. Average citizens of the world now have more data and computing power in their smart phones than the computers used to put a man on the moon in1969. Wow! What a surge of knowledge and information. Did God inspire Daniel the prophet to predict just such a scenario?
Daniel 12:1-4 NKJV 1 "At that time Michael shall stand up, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, Every one who is found written in the book. 2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, ... 3 Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever. 4 "But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase."
Daniel is here given details about the end of the age of Satan. This age will end in a spectacular manner. How did Daniel know all these things? He undoubtedly had divine inspiration. Many parts of Daniel accurately predicted the future. More research is done today than ever before and scientific labs are probing the deep DNA secrets of life. Scientist are seeing the unbelievable complexity of a single cell in a living organism. Mankind is learning the vastness of the universe and much more. Daniel was so correct.
What about world travel. We are not just speaking of travel for world leaders and explorers, but average people can get discounts tickets on jets and can go from New York to Australia in 23 hours. Australia is on the other side of the world and the lower hemisphere at that. Unbelievable!
Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro,
All this would have been unbelievable even a hundred years ago. It would have been considered science fiction. Soon, those who can pay the high price, will be able to go into space and orbit our planet.
DANIEL ALSO PREDICTED A TIME OF DANGER GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE
It is logical that if God told The Prophet that knowledge would increase exponentially at the end of the age than so would military science. Weaponry would advance to earth destroying levels. Daniel foresaw that as well.

The end of this age would see trouble unlike anything ever before seen. When one thinks of WWII we then realize just how troublesome the end will be for those unprotected by God. This fits with what Moses wrote about the days of Nimrod, the world's first evil dictator and empire builder. Nimrod was uniting all the people for a unified empire. They were doing this against the wishes of God. Nimrod was setting himself up as a replacement for God and his ideas for the true worship of God.
Genesis 11:6-7 NKJV 6 And the LORD said, "Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. 7 "Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech."
God knew that mankind, if united, would obtain these scientific discoveries too soon. Weapons of Mass destruction like biological and atomic weaponry would have come into existence too soon. Ancient digs around the ruins of Babylon have discovered crude batteries. They had started to understand electricity. Christ, about five centuries after Daniel, adds some more details to this scenario. He tells believers to exit Jerusalem when the beast turns on Judah because the end will be soon and near genocidal.
Matthew 24:21-22 NKJV 21 "For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 "And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened.
DANIEL PREDICTED THE POWER AND CONTINUANCE OF THE HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE
Daniel also foresaw that the future Nimrod, of the final Babylonian Empire, of the end of this age would be dangerous. This Empire that would no doubt be one of those using weapons of mass destruction. This prophet knew that the final dictator king or beastly ruler would worship and adore military power.
Daniel 11:37-38 NKJV 37 "He shall regard neither the God of his fathers nor the desire of women, nor regard any god; for he shall exalt himself above them all. 38 "But in their place he shall honor a god of fortresses; and a god which his fathers did not know he shall honor with gold and silver, with precious stones and pleasant things.
Daniel was given a divine revelation of the final king of the north, the beast. Wealth and military power are part of the things adored by this final evil leader.
Daniel 8:23-24 NKJV 23 "And in the latter time of their kingdom, When the transgressors have reached their fullness, A king shall arise, Having fierce features, Who understands sinister schemes. 24 His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; He shall destroy fearfully, And shall prosper and thrive...
The scheming evil, fierce king of the end time shall be given power by Satan. Daniel also saw the ultimate victory of the Messiah.
Daniel 9:23-24 NKJV 23 "At the beginning of your supplications the command went out, and I have come to tell you, for you are greatly beloved; therefore consider the matter, and understand the vision: 24... To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy.
Daniel saw that this evil leader would lead an empire that has existed from ancient times. The prophet predicted the four great world ruling empires. Rome was the last of the four and the most terrifying.
Daniel 7:19-20 NKJV 19 "Then I wished to know the truth about the fourth beast, which was different from all the others, exceedingly dreadful, with its teeth of iron and its nails of bronze, which devoured, broke in pieces, and trampled the residue with its feet;Daniel 20 "and the ten horns that were on its head, and the other horn which came up, before which three fell, namely, that horn which had eyes and a mouth which spoke pompous words, whose appearance was greater than his fellows.
History reveals that the Roman Empire was stronger and had more impact than any of the others. The Roman Empire has been a presence to varying degrees in central Europe for the last twenty two centuries. Unbelievable! Daniel predicts that a end time leader will be pompous beyond measure. He will be worshiped and make the chant “Heil Hitler and Hale Caesar” seem like child's play. History proves the enduring place of the Roman Empire and the later named Holy Roman Empire. Some remnants of the Holy Roman Empire exists to this day in the treaty of Rome that created the European Union.
Daniel 2:40-41 NKJV 40 "And the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron, inasmuch as iron breaks in pieces and shatters everything; and like iron that crushes, that kingdom will break in pieces and crush all the others. 41 "Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter's clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay.
It was called by news commentator, Tucker Carlson, the 'New German Empire'. DANIEL Predicted this 25 centuries ago. He saw that Europe would be partly weak (clay) and partly strong (Iron).
CONCLUSION OF THESE MATTERS
All believers must start listening to the warnings given by Daniel. Prophecies are written to help lead us to salvation. Believers should be helping with the conversion work of the church and repenting. If we do then:
Daniel 12:2-3 NKJV 2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever.
Those who turn many to righteousness must understand what is righteousness. Many churches teach that much of the law of God is done away. They are deceived. True believers teach the truth in a balanced manner.
Psalms 119:124-128 NKJV 124 Deal with Your servant according to Your mercy, And teach me Your statutes. 125 I am Your servant; Give me understanding, That I may know Your testimonies. 126 It is time for You to act, O LORD, For they have regarded Your law as void. 127 Therefore I love Your commandments More than gold, yes, than fine gold! 128 Therefore all Your precepts concerning all things I consider to be right; I hate every false way.
Keep repenting of all our sins and weaknesses and follow the way of true righteousness so we can shine someday.
