A Third Temple Is Necessary For The Second Coming Of Christ: Netanyahu / Trump Factor
IF YOU BELIEVE IN CHRIST YOU MUST EXPECT A THIRD TEMPLE IN JERUSALEM
Jesus when asked about the signs pointing to his return and the end of this age He said look for the desecration of the Temple which then stood in Jerusalem. The disciples were in awe of the Temple which was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world at one point. Christ shocked them and said:
Matthew 24:3-15 NKJV 3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?" 14 "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. 15 "Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand),
Jesus shocked them further by describing the unthinkable-the moving of these enormous blocks and the utter destruction of this magnificent Temple.
Luke 21:5-6 NKJV 5 Then, as some spoke of the temple, how it was adorned with beautiful stones and donations, He said, 6 "These things which you see--the days will come in which not one stone shall be left upon another that shall not be thrown down."
If we believe in the words of our Messiah Jesus, a third Temple must be standing in Jerusalem in the last days so it can be desecrated with something abominable. There is no other possibility except a real magnificent Temple standing in Jerusalem in the last days of this age. It has to be rebuilt. Further it would seem, that it has to include some portion of the famous 'wailing wall'. President Trump prayed at this wailing wall. This is believed to be the only portion of the Temple complex that was not torn down in 70 CE. What is the abomination referred to by Jesus?
Daniel 11:30-35 NKJV 30 "For ships from Cyprus shall come against him; therefore he shall be grieved, and return in rage against the holy covenant, and do damage. So he shall return and showregard for those who forsake the holy covenant. 31 "And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation.
Daniel prophesied centuries in advance what happened in 167-169 BCE. The Temple was desecrated! The king of the north had his invasion of the south turned back by a Roman Empire fleet. Along his retreat path he angrily came to Jerusalem full of hate and anger. The king of the north desecrated the Temple. Antiochus the IV stopped the daily sacrifices then he sacrificed pigs on the altar and erected a statue in honor of Zeus.
32 "Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits. 33 "And those of the people who understand shall instruct many;.. 34 "Now when they fall, they shall be aided with a little help; but many shall join with them by intrigue... until the time of the end; because it is still for the appointed time.
He conspired with many of the Jews and honored those who betrayed God. Other loyal Jews revolted and prevailed and cleaned the Temple. Will the beast conspire in the future with secular Jews? What was done in about 168 BCE was clearly a model of what would occur at the end of this age. In the middle of a seven year week the anti-Christ or beast will break his covenant suddenly with Israel. It will lead to persecution of many of the Jews and desecration of the Temple until the beast is destroyed at the end of the age.
Daniel 9:27 NKJV 27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate."
In the end of the week or the tribulation the destroyer will be desolated himself by the returning Christ.
SPECULATION ON THE WHEN AND HOW OF THE THIRD TEMPLE: TRUMP FACTOR
When President Trump did the unthinkable and moved the US Embassy to Jerusalem we realized that America had the most pro-Israel leader in history. Therefore if Israel did decide to rebuild the Temple, unlike others, President Trump would support it. This could be a game changer. Trump proved that he is determined enough to withstand the pressures of all our Islamic allies when he moved the embassy. Netanyahu has the third Temple at the bottom of his wish list and his time in office is coming to end Fall 2021.
When the second Temple was built it required two things; the support of a super power, the Persian Empire and a strong leader within Judah, Nehemiah. Can President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu duplicate that feat? We are just speculating. But this is the first time in the lifetime of little Israel that such a combination of leaders has come upon the scene. But both are vehemently opposed by leftist political secular forces in a manner that seems to remind me of Shakespeare's “ I think he protested too much” line. Is there a spiritual component to the opposition to both men? Is it possible that Satan sees the same potential that we see?
Ezra 1:2-7 NKJV 2 Thus says Cyrus king of Persia: All the kingdoms of the earth the LORD God of heaven has given me. And He has commanded me to build Him a house at Jerusalem which is in Judah. 3 Who is among you of all His people? May his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel (He is God), which is in Jerusalem...7 King Cyrus also brought out the articles of the house of the LORD, which Nebuchadnezzar had taken from Jerusalem and put in the temple of his gods;
The people of Judah not only got financial help to rebuild the Temple but the original precious articles that decorated the Temple. The second Temple was special because the Son of God and his Disciples would preach and perform miracles in that complex. Even more so, the last great prophets of the God sent to rebellious mankind will also preach in the Third Temple in Jerusalem.
Revelation 11:1-3 NKJV 1 Then I was given a reed like a measuring rod. And the angel stood, saying, "Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there. 2 "But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months. 3 "And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth."
It appears that the Dome of the Rock will remain in the outer areas nearby the Temple at the end times. This seems realistic. We can imagine someone saying the sacred mountain is for all religions to share. Israel would allow Christians to worship there so all of the big three would have use of the sacred mountain.
THE DESECRATION OF THE TEMPLE IS THE TRIGGER FOR RETURN OF CHRIST
It appears that the king of the north ( Holy Roman Empire) and Israel and much of the world will be experiencing a deceptive peace. Then suddenly the beast will stab Israel in the back and take over the Temple. This will trigger the countdown to the end of the age and the beginning of the great tribulation.
Daniel 12:10-11 NKJV 10 "Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand. 11 "And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days.
We have thirty days more than three and half years, and further the next verse brings in another mystery.
Daniel 12:12 NKJV 12 "Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.
We can see clearly that the Temples sacrilege is a key trigger to the end of the age for now we have an additional forty five day mystery . Daniel was told that the mystery is locked up until the end times but the third Temple is vital to the fulfillment of all these prophesies.
Daniel 12:9 NKJV 9 And he said, "Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
All God's predictions come true it is just a question of when, how and possibly by whom. Many of the answers are still a mystery yet to be revealed.
2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 NKJV 1 Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
Jesus warns us to stay close to God and alert so that the false peace and great deceptions do not lull us asleep spiritually. Watch and stay alert!
