IS AMERICA BLESSED MORE THAN OTHER NATIONS BY GOD?
The founders of America and many of its citizens have believed for years that this nation is blessed by God. America's speedy and miraculous rise to power from thirteen small colonies, on the east side of the Appalachian Mountains, to the global super power seemed to support such beliefs. Are these beliefs supported in anyway in the Bible? The modern day approach is the exact opposite. New theories have America as primarily evil instead. For example a city in the Midwest has canceled the Fourth of July celebration while at the same time allowed two other politically correct marches to occur.
Many have believed for centuries that America and Great Britain share the birthright blessing given to Israel. Most people are ignorant of the fact that Judah was not the entirety of Israel, but only one of the tribes. During the lifetime of the last Biblical patriarch, Joseph's sons received the major blessing of Jacob.
Genesis 48:18-20 NKJV 18 And Joseph said to his father, ..." 19 But his father refused and said, "I know, my son, I know. He also shall become a people, and he also shall be great; but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his descendants shall become a multitude of nations." 20 So he blessed them that day, saying, "By you Israel will bless, saying, 'May God make you as Ephraim and as Manasseh!'" And thus he set Ephraim before Manasseh.
Where in human history can one find two brother nations that became great and powerful with the first one becoming an empire of nations or a multitude of nations. The only possible historic answer that could fit the Biblical blessing pattern is the Anglo-Saxons(sons of Issac.) They first became the great British Empire then later the world's number one super power, America. The blessings are not just in geopolitical terms but in economic power. Britain led the industrial revolution and had an empire in which the sun never set. America then became the global economic engine that it is still to this day, the envy of the world. Why are people from many nations peoples storming into America because of the open border? They know more freedom of opportunity and prosperity exists in America than any other place on the planet. Have America and Britain been a spiritual blessing to this evil world? Yes! The King James Bible has led the way to bringing God's Word to the world. Therefore we believers can celebrate the 4th of July with pride that the separation and independence of this nation was part of the blessings given to the patriarchs.
CHRISTIANITY IS BASED ON THE FOUNDATION OF ISRAEL
Most people believe that the Old Testament and nation of Israel, have nothing to do with new covenant believers, especially gentiles. One of the more shocking statements in the New Testament is that the believers, faith is based on ancient Israel and the lessons given to them by Moses and the prophets.
Romans 11:24-25 RSV 24 For if you have been cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, andgrafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these natural branches be grafted back into their own olive tree. 25 Lest you be wise in your own conceits,...
The Apostle Paul is explaining to the gentile Romans that they should not be looking down on their Jewish associates who now are being left behind because they refuse to accept Jesus. He is saying to them, be humble.
Romans 11:17-18 RSV 17 But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, a wild olive shoot, were grafted in their place to share the richness of the olive tree, 18 do not boast over the branches. If you do boast, remember it is not you that support the root, but the root that supports you.
Paul is telling the gentile Romans who were God fearers and probably set in the back of the synagogues that they should appreciate the foundation laid by Israel and the Old Testament for its spiritual richness is a benefit for them. We new covenant believers should also appreciate the richness of the Old Testament which includes knowledge of the blessings given to Joseph. Why does Satan's society hate the Jews so much and envy America? Satan knows which nations still have the economic blessings of God. What nations are the most biblical in their history in the present world? One would have to say in the last five centuries Britain and America. Read the Mayflower Compact; it was full of the Bible.
BLESSINGS AND CURSES GIVEN TO ISRAEL
The list of blessings given to Israel the last patriarch are another proof.
Deuteronomy 28:4-5 RSV 4 Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, and the fruit of your ground, and the fruit of your beasts, the increase of your cattle, and the young of your flock. 5 Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading-trough.
The American pioneers were successful because their population grew dramatically and clearly America is the agricultural mega power in the world. Often American agricultural was bothered by excess production. Most of the world would love to have such problems. America has the lowest and most abundantly priced food on the planet.
Deuteronomy 28:12-13 RSV 12 The LORD will open to you his good treasury the heavens, to give the rain of your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hands; and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. 13 And the LORD will make you the head, and not the tail;...
America and Britain have been the unchallenged financial leaders of the world. London and Wall street have been financial hub of world for centuries.
Genesis 22:17-18 RSV 17 I will indeed bless you, and I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore. And your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies, 18 and by your descendants shall all the nations of the earth bless themselves, because you have obeyed my voice."
This is a significant sign that the Anglo Saxon nations controlled most of the key gates. The Spanish Armada was destroyed in 1588 mostly by weather, God’s blessing. After that period the British Empire, later augmented by the U.S., controlled almost every major sea and land gate. Britain itself is a sea gate to the Baltic Sea and the Arctic at that point on the globe.

All these Gates were controlled for years until our governments became so ‘progressive’ and gave away much of the power. The British Empire and the later American power are clearly the blessings of the God of Israel.
WHY IS ANY OF THIS IMPORTANT TO US BELIEVERS TODAY?
It is not essential to our salvation to agree with our reasoning. However we could logically assert that seeing God faithfully find a way to keep His promises to patriarchs in spite of sins and all the many twists of history is amazing. It should be inspiring to us. We can trust God no matter what happens. Again Romans 11:12-18 indicates that the foundation of New Covenant Christianity is based in Israel’s history.
America and secondly Britain have led the way in giving the world Christian charity and missionaries far beyond any other nations. All the words of all the Prophets from Moses to these of the Apostle Paul support that foundation. We are blessed to be grafted into Israel. Enjoy the Fourth of July!
