The Earth's Future Drastic Population Decline Based On Biblical Prophecy
THE BIBLE FORSEES DRAMATIC POPULATION THREATS
Many are seriously concerned about the planet. Most of those with this concern would be shocked to know that Jesus the Messiah will have to return to this planet to save it. All life would be poisoned or otherwise destroyed if not for the second coming of Christ. Jesus gave this stark warning :
Matthew 24:21-22 NKJV 21 "For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 "And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened.
The context of this scripture are the tumultuous end time events and the return of the Messiah to save the planet. Jesus is predicting that mankind's exchange of weapons will get out of control. A gloomy, future out of control exchange of weapons will threaten the planet. This will include biological and chemical as well as nuclear weapons and who knows what other new variations of mass destruction will be unleashed? God will not be in any wise happy with mankind.
Revelation 11:18 NKJV 18 The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, And the time of the dead, that they should be judged, And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, And those who fear Your name, small and great, And should destroy those who destroy the earth."
God will unleash upon the evil population of this planet a number of plagues as well. We are not certain which disasters are fully the fault of the evil nations but, we can investigate the population decline in the great tribulation as described in biblical prophecy. We do know that God will allow warfare among evil dictatorships to be part of the destruction.
Revelation 6:4 NKJV 4 Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword.
THE REVELATIONS OF JESUS AS GIVEN TO JOHN
John the Apostle was given stark revelations to be given to the church and the world. It is called the book of Revelation. In a future world with a population of ten billion or so we will review the prophesied population declines. We hope to get a reasonable estimate of the population carnage.
Revelation 6:8 NKJV 8 So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth.
A fourth of the planet's population will be diminished by the three fold disasters of war, starvation and diseases causing death. Often war disrupts the food supply and malnutrition drives diseases and death; even beyond just starvation. The planet's population could decline by 2.5 billion. Then more will die later.
Revelation 9:14-15 NKJV 14 saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, "Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates." 15 So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released to kill a third of mankind.
It is probable that these angels are fallen angels that God is now going to allow Satan to unleash on the planet. How will Satan achieve this evil deed? Possibly through evil dictatorships he controls, warring with each other. Regardless of the details God is either doing it or allowing it to be done by Satan because of mankind rejection of the truth. Note II Thess. 2:6-9. This leaves earth's population now at this low point of 4.2 billions.
Later weapons described are like drones by the tens of thousands painted to look frightening. The weapons sound like thousands of drones might sound possibly.
Revelation 9:9 NKJV 9 And they had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots with many horses running into battle.
The locusts were made of metal and made a weird sound. A vast fleet of drones might have been what John saw. But those not killed by these possible weapons of evil dictators are tormented.
Revelation 9:17-20 NKJV 17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision:...were like the heads of lions; and out of their mouths came fire, smoke, and brimstone. 18 By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed--by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone which came out of their mouths....for their tails are like serpents,
Note the response of the God defying population at the end times.
20 But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone...
Are verse 15 and verse 18 describing the same event or two related events? If they represent two events, then mankind's population could possibly be reduced by another 3.3 billion meaning a population of around one billion. Other events will reduce the population even further but percentages are not revealed.
Revelation 8:7-11 NKJV 7 The first angel sounded: And hail and fire followed,... And a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up. 8... like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood. 9 And a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed. 10 Then... a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. 11 The name of the star is Wormwood... and many men died from the water, because it was made bitter.
This probably will reduce the population under a billion or at best well under the three billion.
WILL MANKIND REPENT AND BE SPARED ?
Paul said prophecies can fail. Like the warning to Nineveh by Jonah, God can call off the destruction if the people repent of defiant evil and believe the truth given them by the two witnesses. However the odds of this happening seems very, very unlikely.
Revelation 16:9-11 NKJV 9 And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory. 10 Then...his kingdom became full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues because of the pain. 11 They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and did not repent of their deeds.
Mankind will continue our drift away from the true God. People will worship the state and the state's leader. It is unlikely that most will wish to believe the truth and follow God. They will believe defiantly that men can create our own utopia without God. God's Laws and ways will be ignored, forgotten and demonized among too many. However some will heed the warning and be converted midst all that carnage. They will receive their crown as if refined by fire.
All us true believers should repent NOW before the crisis at the end of this Satan's age. Repent now and get baptized by the true Church of God and thereby qualify for the places of safety mentioned in the book of Revelation.
Revelation 3:10-11 NKJV 10 "Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. 11 "Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.
Revelation 12:14 NKJV 14 But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent.
The book of Revelations is hard but one thing is certainly true we all need to repent. All of us must remain in a repentant attitude until the end.
