Why Is Daniel Possibly the Most Consequential Book in the Bible?

WHY OPENLY STRONG SPIRITUAL WARFARE TO BLOCK DANIEL'S INFO?

The Bible reveals no other such intense warfare among spiritual beings to block the prophecies or other revelations involving any other books. Therefore as far as God's adversary is concerned the book of Daniel is the most important book or prophecy among the revealed words of God. It is CLEARLY vital. With this in mind we are going to do a four part Podcast series of Programs on the fascinating book of Daniel. This should help us validate and trust the entire Bible more than ever. BLESSED are all who learn to trust the Bible.

Revelation 1:3 NKJV 3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.

Psalms 119:42-44 NKJV 42 So shall I have an answer for him who reproaches me, For I trust in Your word... 44 So shall I keep Your Law continually, Forever and ever.

The adversary wants to block our reading these vital prophecies therefore we are blessed if we read and increasingly understand them. Note Satan's attempt to block results of Daniel's prayer.

Daniel 10:6-7 NKJV 6 His body was like beryl, his face like the appearance of lightning, his eyes like torches of fire, his arms and feet like burnished bronze in color, and the sound of his words like the voice of a multitude. 7 And I, Daniel, alone saw the vision, for the men who were with me did not see the vision; but a great terror fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves.

A powerful angel appeared to Daniel. Note the tale of awesome spiritual warfare involved in his bringing these prophetic messages to this beloved prophet.

Daniel 10:12-14 NKJV 12 ... "Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself... your words were heard; and I have come because of your words. 13 "But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, … with the kings of Persia. 14 "Now I have come to make you understand what will happen to your people in the latter days,...

Imagine that a powerful angel of God was blocked by high level demonic rulers of the pagan kingdoms for three weeks. The angel locked in titanic spiritual warfare, and had to be rescued by the arch angel that stands for the people of Israel. The demonic world was determined to block this message. Why?

THE ANSWERS TO DANIEL'S PRAYER ARE CRUCIAL

Daniel's deep repentant prayer for all of God's people was significant. He asked when would Israel's banishment end and he repented officially for the people. God had to send an arch angel to break thru the spiritual blockade and answer his request.

Daniel 9:20-21 NKJV 20 Now while I was speaking, praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel,...before the LORD my God... 21 yes, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, reached me...

The restoration of Israel and the coming of the Messiah is such a vital issue that God's adversaries tried mightily to block this information from reaching mankind. God gave the prophet Daniel the awesome seventy weeks prophecy which confirms the return of Judah to Jerusalem and the first and second coming of Jesus Christ the Messiah.

Daniel 9:24-25 NKJV 24 "Seventy weeks are determined For your people and for your holy city, To finish the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy. 25 "Know therefore and understand, That from the going forth of the command To restore and build Jerusalem Until Messiah the Prince, There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks;...

Daniel's prayers were effective because he included himself humbly among the sinners though He was probably the most righteous of Isrealites at the time.

Daniel 10:11 NKJV 11 And he said to me, "O Daniel, man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright, for I have now been sent to you." While he was speaking this word to me, I stood trembling.

Daniel was crying out to God for his people in the Babylonian captivity now ruled by the Persians. He begged for mercy for he knew the people deserved their banishment. Daniel was deeply loved and esteemed by God and had a special role. Daniel would be the key to understanding prophecy, so much so that the adversary tried hard to block this information.

DANIEL'S PROPHECIES ARE THE VERACITY OF THE BIBLE ?

If the book of Daniel was not inspired by God but just a counterfeit written by the Jews why then are the prophecies so accurate? Daniels predictions are proof of the Bibles divine inspiration. We will in the next few Podcast cover in greater detail many of these predictions. Facts prove that such a counterfeit is impossible. The ability for Daniel to foresee many events many centuries in the future cannot be explained away. He was inspired by deity!

Daniel 9:27 NKJV 27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate."

We can ask how did Daniel know about the future Temple desecration? How did he know what would happen over three centuries in advance? God told him! His prediction came true in 168 BC by Antiochus Epiphanies abomination of the Temple and will occur again at the end of this age by the beast dictator. Jesus Himself validates Daniel's predictions.

Matthew 24:14-15 NKJV 14 "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. 15 "Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand),

Jesus says know that the return of the Messiah is near and also the end of this evil age when the Temple is abominated again. Some would say, but there is no Temple today. Remember no Temple existed when Daniel made his prediction as well. He predicted that the Persians would decree the rebuilding of Jerusalem and the Temple and they did as he foresaw.

Daniel predicted in amazing details the wars between the kings of the north and the kings of the south. He foresaw all four of the world ruling empires which went forward for many, many centuries and is still true. The Holy Roman Empire has existed in Europe until recently. But has now been replaced by the Treaty of Rome which founded the European Union. The battle between the good angel and the demonic forces that rule this world's paganized empires was the backdrop to Daniel's vision.

Daniel 10:20 NKJV 20 Then he said, "Do you know why I have come to you? And now I must return to fight with the prince of Persia; and when I have gone forth, indeed the prince of Greece will come.

How did Daniel know that the next world empire would be Greek? He died long before that empire came into prominence. Clearly Daniel was given divine revelations. Also Daniel foresaw the Roman Empire with it's long legs or it's long existence far in advance.

Daniel 2:40 NKJV 40 "And the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron, inasmuch as iron breaks in pieces and shatters everything; and like iron that crushes, that kingdom will break in pieces and crush all the others.

He predicted this empire and the eventual destruction of all world ruling pagan empires by a future kingdom of God.

Daniel 2:42-44 NKJV 42 "And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile.....44 "And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.
