GOD'S UNDYING PROTECTION OF HIS PEOPLE NO MATTER WHAT
We find something special and unique about Israel's warriors. If America is part of the lost ten tribes of Israel, one would expect to see this connection with Judah and their military. The Bible records this profound military difference from other nations.
1 Kings 20:31, “Then his servants said to him, ‘Look now, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel are merciful kings. Please, let us put sackcloth around our waists and ropes around our heads, and go out to the king of Israel; perhaps he will spare your life.’” (NKJV)
Israel was clearly less vicious than most nations, MOST OF THE TIME. Armies, when they have the enemy cornered, would just massacre them. Israel had a kind, better reputation. America and Britain were magnanimous in victory in WWII and the Jewish State acts in the same manner. German soldiers overwhelmingly preferred to surrender WISELY to the British or Americans rather than the Russians in WWII. Note also the ominous warning of evil Haman's wife regarding who God protects:
Esther 6:12-13, “But Haman hurried to his house, mourning and with his head covered. 13 When Haman told his wife Zeresh … everything that had happened to him, his wise men and his wife Zeresh said to him, ‘If Mordecai, before whom you have begun to fall, is of Jewish descent, you will not prevail against him but will surely fall before him.’”
The two nations, Israel and America, fight effectively together because they have a common ancestry and are blessed with Judeo-Christian ethics.
THE ORIGINAL PURIM & TODAY'S EVENTS MEET IRONICALLY
The original Purim was on March 7, 473 B.C., when Mordecai and Esther reversed the planned genocide of the Jews unto the defeat of their enemies. Those who wanted them to die instead died themselves. It does not pay to try and destroy God's people. Note Hitler's demise for instance.
Genesis 12:2-3, “I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
It is ironic that the regime that chanted death to Israel and America for nearly fifty years are now eating dirt. They are being cursed of God.
Furthermore, America, Britain and Israel have been charitable blessings and human rights benefactors for all the world. This includes many technologies and inventions that have been developed from the Jewish state as well. The book of Esther reveals how God protected them. Note the following:
Esther 2:9-10, “Now the young woman pleased him, and she obtained his favor; so he readily gave beauty preparations to her, besides her allowance… he moved her and her maidservants to the best place in the house of the women. 10 Esther had not revealed her people or family, for Mordecai had charged her not to reveal it.”
She was obedient to Mordecai's strategic advice and was clearly beautiful and charming, both inside and out. The Persians and the Jewish people got along well thanks to Queen Esther and may in the near future as well.
THE FIRST GENOCIDE OR HOLOCAUST THREAT CAME FROM AN IRANIAN LEADER
Just as the evil Haman plotted to eradicate all Jews so did Iran radical religious leaders of today wanted nukes to eliminate Israel. Both went down in humiliating defeat. Persia which is Iran's original name is the site of both events.
Esther 3:1, “After these things King Ahasuerus promoted Haman, the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him and set his seat above all the princes who were with him.”
It appears that Haman is a descendant of Agag the evil king of a nation that was possibly the first and worse enemy of Israel from the days of their first exiting Egypt.
Esther 3:6-8, “Instead, Haman sought to destroy all the Jews who were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus… 7 In the first month, which is the month of Nisan, in the twelfth year of King Ahasuerus, they cast Pur (that is, the lot)… determine the day and the month… 8 Then Haman said to King Ahasuerus, 'There is a certain people different from all other people’s… Therefore it is not fitting for the king to let them remain.'"
The evil Haman gave a logical reason for this horrible genocide but clearly Persia with the gifted Jewish people are better off. The same was true of Germany in 1940's.
Esther 4:15-16, “Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai: 16 ‘Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and FAST for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!’”
The value of fasting and prayer are clearly displayed in this historic event. Esther was accepted by the Emperor and cleverly turned him against the evil Haman.
James 5:16-17, “Pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. 17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months.”
All believers should follow that example of believing in the power of prayer and fasting whenever we are in a crisis or trial. Know that God is with us.
Esther 9:3-5, “And all the officials of the provinces, the satraps, the governors, and all those doing the king's work, helped the Jews, because the fear of Mordecai fell upon them… Thus the Jews defeated all their enemies with the stroke of the sword… with those who hated them.”
This is a very important historic event. Are we facing any crucial events currently?
DO CURRENT EVENTS HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH END TIME PROPHETIC SIGNS?
First, Ezekiel mentions that Persia is part of a cabal of nations that invade Israel at the end of the age.
Ezekiel 38:2-6, “…set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal...5 Persia… 6 Gomer and all its troops; the house of Togarmah from the far north…”
Some clerics are now saying this is an end time event. It is doubtful. It is also possible that IF peace is created in the middle east and much of world, is it the false peace of the end times. This is also doubtful, though. But could it be that a future leader of the Roman Empire might try to mimic PAC-Americana and bring on a false peace in the near future with evil motives? A promise of peace can be used as a weapon of war, as in 1938.
1 Thessalonians 5:2-3, “For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, ‘Peace and safety!’ then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.”
Don't let various writers selling end time books get us all worked up over current events. The end is not coming now because of Persia being in the news, and it certainly does not mean the end is coming at any moment.
