Avoiding The Unpardonable Sin

IS THERE A SIN THAT IS UNFORGIVABLE? THE SIN THAT LEADS TO DEATH…

We true believers can trust that Jesus will help us to persevere until salvation. We are secure in Christ, believe it and feel safe!

1 Corinthians 10:13, “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” (NKJV)

Jesus is on our side. He will keep us from facing more than we can handle.

Psalms 73:23-24, “Nevertheless I am continually with You; You hold me by my right hand. 24 You will guide me with Your counsel, And afterward receive me to glory.”

Jude 1:24-25, “Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, And to present you faultless Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, 25 To God our Savior…Who alone is wise, Be glory and majesty…”

The only one that can sink our ship is us. Do not allow yourself to be seduced to the dark side. Avoid wicked influences and stay safe. People can torpedo themselves by giving themselves over to an adversary spirit –– the spirit of the defiant sinner, which is not concerned with what God thinks. One then becomes more of an adversarial defiant sinner.

Hebrews 10:26-27, “For if we do evil on purpose after we have had the knowledge of what is true, there is no more offering for sins, 27 But only a great fear of being judged, and of the fire of wrath which will be the destruction of the haters of God.”

Nobody can take our salvation away from us, we are secure in Christ. Our only danger lies IN US. No one can endanger our salvation but us!

WE NEED TO PROTECT OUR HEARTS FROM THE POTENTIAL EVIL WITHIN

Believers must work to prevent the contamination of our hearts from deepest evils from within.

Mark 7:20-23, “And He said, ‘What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. 21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. 23 All these evil things come from within and defile a man.’”

Have complete trust in Christ and persevere until the end, and we are guaranteed salvation, but we cannot let the evil within us undermine our character. Jesus warned the leaders to not let their jealousy and their greed push them to openly resist God.

Matthew 12:27-28, “And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges. 28 But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come.”

Verses 31-32, “Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.

Christ is warning these leaders that KNOWINGLY OPPOSING the work and power of God is the unpardonable sin. They should stop what they are doing or they will lose the opportunity for salvation even in the next age when resurrected. Jesus loved them, therefore he warned them. The normal sins of weakness or addiction we need to work on but defiantly sinning against God is salvational suicide. A person must repent deeply and quickly of such behavior.

THE BEST METHOD TO DEFEAT THE EVIL DEFIANT SINNER TRAP ?

First remember that love is our best antidote. When one loves God and his fellowman he has a strong incentive to resist evil and serve God. Loving God makes us REALIZE THAT all sin is ultimately against God himself. This will aid us in truly repenting of our mistakes like King David. His deep repentance is a factor in why he was a man after God's own heart.

Psalms 31:23-24, “Oh, love the LORD, all you His saints! For the LORD preserves the faithful, And fully repays the proud person. 24 Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the LORD.”

Psalms 51:4-11, “Against You, You only, have I sinned, And done this evil in Your sight...5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother... 6 Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts...9 Hide Your face from my sins, And blot out all my iniquities. 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me."

David desired greatly to restore his relationship with God and to perceive and grapple with the stark truth of his real human nature. His love for God is evident.

Mark 12:29-30, “Jesus answered him, ‘The first of all the commandments is: “Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is one. 30 And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.” This is the first commandment.’”

Loving God is the greatest commandment and why idolatry is such a dangerous sin.

METHODS TO BUILD OUR LOVE FOR GOD SHOULD BE OUR PRIMARY GOAL

King David was a gifted musician and poet. Even without the original music or language his words are stunningly meaningful. He even channeled how the Messiah would feel at His sacrifice.

1. Music is a major tool in deepening our love for God.

Ephesians 5:19-20, “Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

2. Appreciating God in a joyous manner will strengthen our ties to Him as well.

Philippians 4:4-5, “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.”

3. Be forgiving and block anger and hatred to achieve alignment with God's mind.

Ephesians 4:26-32, “Be angry, and do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, 27 nor give place to the devil…29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God…31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. 32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you.”

Putting God first financially cements our commitment and love of God.

Matthew 6:21, “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

Give of our best to the master and work on having honest talks with God like King David did to develop that loving relationship.
